Description
The Category Management Director will create value for all of MyEyeDr.’s product categories by driving sales, profitability and patient satisfaction. This role will drive the strategic vision for each category and a pathway to profitable share growth.
- Support the EVP, Merchandising/Supply Chain by developing and executing overall category strategy by identifying category opportunities that drive revenue growth and gross margin improvements.
- Own successful execution of contracts for our contact lens vendors and will build a product strategy by vendor that maximizes revenue, vendor rebates, gross margin and share of category versus competition. They will also own the creation and execution of the strategy within internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with our Chief Medical Officer and the VP of Clinical Excellence to partner on actions plan that will execute the strategy with our Doctors of Optometry.
- Own strategic planning of our three largest product categories of frames, lenses and contact lenses.
- Create and execute value-creating category management strategies that exceed company goals and ensure we drive profitable share growth.
- Lead the development of category roadmaps that identify clear lanes for how we will maximize value from vendors. Additionally, they will build promotional plans that maximize revenue of each patient’s investment in their care plan.
- Partner with operations to ensure KPIs and key performance metrics are monitored to identify areas of improvement.
- Collaborate with revenue management (managed vision care team) to ensure we capture the maximum value allowed by insurance plan.
- Build pricing and promotional strategies in partnership with FP&A that grow GM% and revenue by identifying gaps and opportunities via monthly analytical
- Partner with Head of Analytics to build out strategy that maximizes profitability based on insurance schedules and payor mix by market
- Manage performance against vendor contracts and rebate programs
- Develop and present executive level analysis and recommendations based on findings, and corresponding execution plan as needed
- 10+ years of work experience in retail strategy and category management
- Advanced experience developing unified category strategies
- Advanced experience with presenting and aligning executive teams on strategic direction
- Demonstrated experience as a strong leader who can prioritize, communicate clearly, and influence across cross-functional teams
- Robust analytical storytelling skills, including the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, develop recommendations, implement strategies and report out at an executive level
- Ability to create relationships and understand technical and nontechnical cross-functional teams at the executive level of an organization, and be an effective decision maker amid varying perspectives
- Strong cross-functional partnership capabilities and ability to build bridges across teams
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with a strong work ethic and tenacity
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- High initiative, able to assert recommendations and effectively and expediently drive work forward
- Ability to prioritize initiatives for the greatest strategic impact on the organization and alignment with the organization’s mission
- Capacity to synthesize large amounts of data and effectively present findings to leadership and area owners
- Financial aptitude and business acumen, able to read, understand, translate, and create qualitative and quantitative reports related to financial and business performance
- Superb time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; aptitude to work with a variety of internal and external constituencies
- Fluency in Microsoft PowerBI, SQL, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
