About the role
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Merchandise Planning Manager to lead frame merchandising execution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of projects related to the merchandising of optical frames in our 850+ locations. This role requires strong leadership, planning, and analysis skills as well as keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

This highly detailed planner will manage the Office Capacity and Planogram validation process and ensure that brand and merchandising standards are met as well as deliver against timelines for a high growth organization. This role reports to the Director, Frame Assortment Strategy and provides a flexible work arrangement our of our Vienna, VA or Raleigh, NC offices.

You Will
  • Manage Inventory Optimization within offices - Proactively review collection on hand in offices – works with Sr. Inventory Planner and Assortment Planning Coordinator to execute orders/transfers
  • Update and maintain office capacity data, fixture database ensuring alignment with frame planogram
  • Oversee planogram execution of new offices (Denovo and Integration), relocations, remodels, and mergers
  • Collaborate with the merchandising team to develop and implement effective merchandising strategies for optical frames.
  • Analyze category/collection sales trends; make recommendations for planogram adjustments to increase sales and profitability and reduce inventory excess across offices
  • Develop plan and execute merchandising initiatives by identifying suitable placement, partnership with Facilities to determine installation needs, and vendor coordination to completion
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (marketing, internal operations, field operations and supply chain) to ensure project alignment with company goals
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful on-time completion
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders including Merchandising, Operations, Practice Development, Real Estate, Marketing, etc.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and issues that may arise.
  • Manage Brand Flow and Visual Merchandising Guidelines for offices ensuring they meet brand guidelines and business objectives
 
About You 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education, skills and experience
  • 7+ years of experience in merchandising planning or project management
  • Demonstrated experience as a strong leader who can prioritize, communicate clearly, and influence across cross-functional teams
  • Highly collaborative and ability to drive execution
  • Ability to create relationships and understand technical and nontechnical cross-functional teams that will help ensure projects are completed
  • Experience within a high performance and high growth retailer
  • Experience in the optical industry preferred
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in eyewear and fashion preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills combined with a strong work ethic and tenacity
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • High initiative, able to assert recommendations and effectively and expediently drive work forward
  • Ability to prioritize initiatives for the greatest impact on the organization and alignment with the organization’s mission
  • Capacity to synthesize large amounts of data and effectively present findings to leadership and area owners
  • Superb time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; aptitude to work with a variety of internal and external constituencies
  • Fluency in Tableau, Microsoft SQL, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
  • Strong understanding of merchandising principles and retail operations
