Accounting Supervisor, Inventory

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for Inventory and Cost of Goods Sold accounting and financial reporting. This position is responsible for producing both internal financial reporting and ad-hoc reporting analysis to all levels of the business and for multiple audiences. In addition, the Supervisor is responsible for the accounting, reconciliation and reporting of inventory and cost of goods sold in accordance with company policies and US GAAP. 

This is a hybrid remote role, offering a flexible work arrangement out of our Raleigh, NC office.

You Will

  • Provide leadership to the staff accounting team responsible for inventory and COGS accounting.
  • Prepare and execute the plan for inventory and COGS month-end close journal entries and analyses.
  • Partner with operations to lead and monitor inventory accuracy and physical inventory process.
  • Provide variance analysis for all inventory and COGS areas.
  • Ensure proper accounting for inventory acquired in acquisitions.
  • Oversee acquisition rebates journal entries and analyses.
  • Support and coordinate all inventory and COGS accounting projects among all teams.
  • Ensure subledger balances to general ledger and resolve any variances.
  • Prepare or review inventory rollforwards and analysis for management review.
  • Assist in developing and support a cycle count program for organization.
  • Ensure audit preparedness for financial records, processes and controls. Coordinate audit requests and ensure deliverables are provided within the requested time frame. 
  • Serve as Oracle superuser for area assigned, implementing additional functionality to improve accuracy and efficiency in reporting
  • Produce consistent, accurate, and relevant reporting to audiences including office management, the leadership team and divisional executives.
  • Prepare financial reporting routinely and as requested for internal reporting requirements.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a four-year college or university
  • 3-5 years related experience in public accounting or in a position with General Ledger and Inventory accounting and reporting experience
  • Experience with Oracle or comparable large ERP software system preferred (e.g. SAP)
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • CPA preferred
