Senior Accounts Payable Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate payment of MyEyeDr Selling, General and Administrative invoices (S,G&A) in compliance with company policies. Ensures all S,G&A suppliers are paid accurately and timely. Works with Accounts Payable team ensure proper account coding is completed. Work with Manager to ensure AP subledger is accurate. 

This role reports to the Manager, Accounts Payable and is a hybrid remote role, offering a flexible work arrangement out our Vienna, VA office.

You Will

• Be responsible for accurate and timely processing of all Selling, General and Administrative suppliers.
• Work with accounts payable team to review opportunities to improve accuracy of General Ledger coding on all invoices. Work with GL team to review errors and area’s of opportunity.
• Work with AP Manager to ensure subledger is maintained and accurate at all times.
• Work with suppliers to digitize invoicing provided to AP team. Change management with suppliers will further promote automation.
• Leverage system knowledge to prepare analysis to support management initiatives and audit requests.
• Maintain proper Internal Controls and compliance with policies and with GAAP and IFRS accounting requirements
• Recognize financial opportunities and exposures, and escalate as appropriate, by effectively explaining the underlying issues and proposing a solution.
• Complete reconciliations of suppliers statements for COGS suppliers. Work with suppliers to ensure all unpaid invoices are processed and paid timely.

About You

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of comparable experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Prior experience with Oracle
• Proven accounting experience with working knowledge of payment processes
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills
