Staff Accountant, General Ledger  

 

About the role

The Staff Accountant – General Ledger is responsible for month-end close activities, including journal entries and variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash reconciliations. 

This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Accounting and is a hybrid remote role, offering a flexible work arrangement out of our Vienna, VA office.

You Will

  • Participate in month-end close activities
  • Lead certain department expense review monthly meetings, in connection with FP&A
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Perform variance analysis
  • Review balance sheet accounts and complete reconciliations timely
  • Research and document processes to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
  • Build cross functional relationships to assist in analysis and stay up to date on business changes and key events
  • Participate in, internal projects such as process automations and enhancements
  • Prepare support for external audit
  • Ad hoc requests and other responsibilities as assigned

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting, Finance, or related field from a four-year college or university
  • 1-3 years of related experience
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to handle competing priorities
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong knowledge of USGAA
